Staff Association Scholarship Award Information

  • SA Scholarship Awards are open to students registered in Grade 12 who are completing the requirements of a high school diploma. Applicants must have marks sufficient for entrance to a post-secondary area of study.
  • Each student must have a parent or guardian who is a current member in the Calgary Board of Education Staff Association (PSS and Main Body).
  • Staff Association offers eleven (11) awards:  six (6) will be determined by the financial need of the applicant (6 x $1,500 awards); and five (5) will have no financial need restrictions (5 x $1,000).
  • The Scholarship Award information/application link will be received from EducationMatters sometime between February 15th and March 15th each school year, and will be made available on our site at that time.
  • Information when the link is available on our site:
  • Complete application packages should be submitted to the Scholarship Coordinator at the applicant’s high school.
  • The deadline to receive applications is normally May 30th.
  • Late applications will not be accepted.
  • Recipients are selected in September by the EducationMatters Student Awards Selection Committee and, only those individuals who are selected, will be contacted by EducationMatters
  • To claim the award, within eighteen (18) months of notification of award, the recipient must be registered in an eligible program of post-secondary study in Canada.
  • Payments are made directly to the post-secondary institution.
