Staff Association Scholarship Award

  • Staff Association’s Scholarship Awards are open to students registered in Grade 12 who are completing the requirements of a high school diploma. Applicants must have marks sufficient for entrance to a post-secondary area of study.
  • Each student must have a parent or guardian who is a current member in the Calgary Board of Education Staff Association (PSS and Main Body).  The parent or guardian must note their location of work and position at the end of Section IV, Student Applicant and Parent/Guardian Declaration.
  • Staff Association offers seven awards:  four will be determined by the financial need of the applicant (4 x $1,500 awards); and three will have no financial need restrictions (3 x $1,000).

  • Please note that complete application packages should be submitted to the Scholarship Coordinator at the applicant’s high school.  No applications are to be handed into the Staff Association office.
  • The deadline to receive applications is normally May 30th, however, applicants should check with their Guidance Office for application deadlines in their school.
  • Late applications will not be accepted.
  • Recipients are selected in September by the EducationMatters Student Awards Selection Committee and will be contacted by EducationMatters.

To claim the award, within eighteen (18) months of notification of award, the recipient must be registered in an eligible program of post-secondary study in Canada.

Payments are made directly to the post-secondary institution.
